About Beth Cranford:

My background in floral starts from day one. Seriously… I have grown up in flower shops, a plant nursery, and my family’s gardens since I was an infant (and even before). An infamous tale my mom likes to tell is that she worked as a floral designer in a shop on Mother’s Day when she was 8 months pregnant with me. My native talent is something I am very proud of, it is passed down from generations of plant growers, educators, designers, and retailers. Naturally, I found myself led to pursue an education in flowers and growing up in Starkville—the decision on which college to attend was a no brainer.

I am a Bachelor of Science graduate of Mississippi State University’s elite Floral Management program. Hail State! In between lectures, labs, tailgating and meeting the love of my life, I worked at the University Florist-a student run florist on campus, where my mom was my instructor and shop manager. I was also a member and officer of MSU’s Student Chapter of the American Institute of Floral Designers. The Floral Management program gave me so much more than a degree, it gave me real world experience in the floral industry and a network of friendships and colleagues that will last a lifetime. After my internship at a wholesale florist in St. Louis, Missouri and a couple of jobs in customer service and retail, I finally felt like I had the tools to start my own business here on the Gulf Coast.

I established my business in Bay Saint Louis in 2016 when a friend asked me to design her wedding. I am not going to lie, starting your own business is SCARY. Sure, there were sacrifices and uncertainties, but when I created BCFD’s first bridal bouquet—It was magical. All the work and worry were worth it! Every arrangement, bouquet, and event I design is so rewarding. The designs are not the only exciting parts to running a floral business, building relationships and client interaction is my favorite part. I strive to leave a good impression, not only with my designs, but my level of service.

I have over ten years of experience in Floral Design, Customer Service, Event and Retail Management. Still, I am always looking for ways to grow as a designer and business owner. In the floral industry, you must stay current and be ahead on trends. In one of my design courses, my professor would always remind us of the infamous saying: “When you’re green, you grow. When you’re ripe, you rot.” It’s a motto I’ve stuck to as I grow myself and my business.

Without my supportive family, I would not have this dream job and successful business. My husband, children, and extended family are my biggest fans. My husband, Eric, and I have been married for ten years in March 2024. We have two beautiful daughters, Ellie (8) and Caroline (5) and our latest blessing sweet Matthew (8 months). When I’m not designing flowers, you can find me at the beach or by the pool with a cocktail in hand surrounded by family and friends. I am an active volunteer at Holy Trinity Catholic School and a member of the Our Lady of The Gulf Catholic Church, where I serve on the flower committee. I enjoy giving back and serving our community with my talents and time. I look forward to serving you in all of your life’s special moments.
